Venice – my love

Venice – my love

Hiding from the weather, as in nearly every holiday, we landed once again at Cavallino Village. One of the largest campsites here are the long peninsula between Jesolo and Punta Sabioni.

Plan worked well.

As in the eastern part of the northern Adriatic sea thunderstorms appeared, we had rough rain yesterday morning and only few clouds since that.

Reason enough to visit Venice once again.

And what can I say? Venice again. Full of tourists (like us), too expensive and just a little authentic anymore. But just the way I learned to know it. Just the way I had the time of my life with the love of my live 28 years ago and 12 years ago with my lovely daughter who turns 20 this year and became a powerful, self-determined and beautiful woman like her mother was before and still is.

Venice, my love.

We did not wanted to visit the city today. Bought a bus-ticket and had a precise description how to get to Murano (or Burano?). But we missed the connection, took the wrong ship … What a pity, got to San Marco by accident. What else to do but drinking Spritz and thinking about old times?

In the afternoon we had the chance to visit lido di Venezia. Disappointing. Might be crowded and a visit worth during the film festival. But in September … Boring.

Tomorrow back to the more or less planned trip to Triest to do the Rielke-path and back to Slovenia to the valley of Soca. Let’s see what happens and where weather leeds us to.

Why is this post written in English? Greetings to my irish friend John who maybe has a fine beer-taste but sure teached me a lot of about alcohol, food and English language. This post is dedicated to you John. I apologise all faults and misunderstandings in advance.
